SEO Advice is it Really Necessary?

I have a few opinions on this subject

1. If a website was designed correctly and the designer offered sound advice on SEO fundamentals, would external SEO advice be needed, probably not.

2. SEO experts (although I don't believe there are any, due to Google's secrecy policy) should worked with web designers so quality products are designed from the start.

3. 95% of the websites I view from forums are rubbish, even good quality web designers are making basic errors. The obvious on is copying of the meta description tag throughout the site, to name one. Funnily enough these designers do not make the same errors on their own site.

4. I have no idea why SEO experts use complicated language when discussing SEO, the processes are not that complicated. It is not difficult for a person to understand the basic fundamentals and implement them. I did this and my site ranks in the first 3 pages of goole for most of my keywords, in a very competitive sector. At an SEO cost of $0.

In summary poor web designers are the reason people are turning to SEO experts, in the hope of a quick fix. This mess will continue until the whole industry is regulated or Google decides to offer their own quality fully optimised websites at reasonable prices. This will mean the end for the cowboys who do a 6 week HTML course, which can only be a good thing for everyone.

Thanks for your nice opinion. It is true that the processes of SEO is not complicated and easy to understand. But if you are a beginner, you need to understand the aspects on why we need SEO for our site and not a web designer. For my opinion we still need advice from SEO expert because it is the way to promote or advertise our site , or called as internet marketing. Web designer and SEO expert skills is different from the other. Web designer mainly understand the layout, design , navigation and HTML coding but SEO expert is mainly understanding on how the website reach to the search engine.

Having a well build website is good for SEO, thats true, however, all sites need SEO work in order to get good ranking, most site owners doesnt have a clue, nor do they have the time to do SEO by themselfs, so they pay for someone to do it for them... i believe that in the near future(2-3 years) SEO prices will go down at list 50%.

there are plenty of seo experts. google may have secrets but the most important things are popular knowledge. of course it helps for a website's original designers to have good seo understanding.

same meta description tags through the site ain't a major sin considering meta description tags are worth so little these days.

they use complicated terms and silly acronyms because they want to sound like important 'specialists'. it's a stubborn ego thing.

google offer googlepages for free, which should be good enough for people on a very low budget. regulations are rarely worth implementing.
