Overture Suggestions Dead?
Is it just me? The last week, when I've checked keyword popularity against Overture, whether it's UK or .com, it tells me there's no suggestions. Even for words like s*x.
Someone do me a favour, check http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/
and
http://inventory.uk.overture.com/d/s...ry/suggestion/
See if you can find anything. It seems like they've dropped support for it. Anyone know anything about this?

This tool experienced a great traffic and number of visitors. However, Yahoo failed to capitalized on it again. Another blunder from them. Why?

Agree! Yahoo has failed tremendously in my books by failing countless times over some amazing opportunities.

As far as I know their keyword research tool is simply suffering from large quantities of traffic that surprisingly the system was not designed for.

I never really use Overture....
As far as any free tools I have ever used for Keyword analysis, it would be:
* http://www.seotoolset.com/cgi-bin/checktraffic.cgi For estimate of Keyword daily search activity
* http://www.widexl.com/remote/search-...d-ranking.html For checking a Domains Keyword ranking.
* http://websitesubmit.hypermart.net/keywordanalysis.htm For checking a web pages Keyword Density.
I recommend using the paid version of Keyword Discovery, However using the 3 free tools I listed above together has proven to be rather effective as well.. Just not as detailed with its outputs & diagnostics.
Enjoy....

Remember, Free tools are not as accurate nor replacements for the paid tools...

In the SEO field and all others, I would disagree with this. Take a look at Gimp. Or ws ftp. Plenty of equal examples available for free.

In a sense I agree with you chicgeek, however I have Gimp, While it does seem to perform a Majority of the tasks needed in the day to day field it was developed for. I find that I only use it now days as an additional Filter Tweaking tool Rather than a full Digital graphics software.
It is very Robust with options, I give it that, it's not very user friendly though. If I was new to digital Graphics, Gimp would go way over my head.
Maybe its just me.... I found that a paid Full featured software such as DP8 was more user friendly & equally robust with features. It kinda put Gimp on the "Use ONLY when you Need the additional Filters" list.
Not to mention the 24/7 support, warranty, Etc... you get with a paid software / service....
I'm sure there are more user friendly free versions out there & maybe someone offering Free 24/7 technical support & warranty's.. I just haven't seen it yet.
I am just old fashioned I suppose, with the thought of "You get what you pay for".
Anyways, I hope the keyword tools help...

Well, I was more disagreeing with the absoluteness of your statement, which essentially states that there are never free products that are better than paid versions. I guess Firefox is a better example than Gimp.

Ok, you got me there, I am a BIG firefox fan.... & use a majority of their free Plug-in's .
So, yes I suppose there are Some exceptions to the rule (In general).
