I got indexed within 4 days. I got my site into blogs, forums, articles and was indexed.

Google is pretty fast now days... instead of submitting, get a link from an already indexed site.

I notice that I show up pretty quick if I just make sure to do a good job on my website and not focus so much on whether or not I'm going to get indexed. Sometimes I'm still working on my site and I'm already showing up on Google.. which is frustrating cause my visitors will just leave when they realize I'm still working on it!

yeah, thats happen to me too... but atleast you know the spiders are getting to you site which is a good indication that atleast in the interim, you are doing a good job...
