Building a Custom PC
I have:
DVD-ROM X2
CD-RW
Maxtor HD
Chassis
Floppy Drive
Now I think I need a motherboard. Anything else? And, Does choice of motherboard affect the CPU/ RAM?

Yes, the motherboard has to support the type of RAM and the type of processor you choose.

Don't get the athlon unless you plan on playing a lot of 3d games.

Jazze, I have athlon and I don't play many games.  Works fine, very very fast, and no heat problems. (And more bang for your buck)

Then it would have to be the athlon 64 (first 64 bit processor). If you don't want a 64 bit processor, go w/ the the pentium 4 3.2 or the athlon 3200.  |
