How to optimize a site in yahoo..
Based on the results of my statcounter, only yahoo doesnt give me any traffic. How can i gain traffic in yahoo?? i already submitted several web directories, blog comments, forum postings but still I dont have any traffic in yahoo. why is that so?? anyone could tell me why??

Is it the first time you experienced such issue with Yahoo? If you saw it before, most likely you will have your traffic back to normal. Yahoo might be doing some algo changes and sooner or later it will get settled.

I use to have similar things. Originally my Yahoo traffic was pretty good, but at the same time Google almost ignored me. Than I started to work on my site to be more friendly to Google, and I noticed my Yahoo ranking went down. Then it switched again, Goggle reduced my ranking, and Yahoo brings me up.

It's really hard to say why it happened, someone say they use different algorythms. But it seems to me both of them Yahoo and Google like the same things, Good Content and Relevant Backlinks.

I think we should continue working on Good Content and Relevant Backlinks to make website more friendly and popular, and all major search engines will recognize it.

normal directory submission/blog comments would do but it takes time before they update and list your sites.

Some services that gives results regarding the site activities (i.e. stat counter and Google Analytics) are not that accurate/exact. Mostly, the results are estimation or close to the real results.

BTW you can improve your site's traffic by linking to quality sites, promotional ads, paid advertising, social bookmarkings, etc.

another question regarding in optimizing site in yahoo...

do i need to submit sitemap in yahoo?? i already submitted sitemap in google sitemap.

i wonder if this is the reason why i don't have any traffic in yahoo until now. i even tried to put the exact address of my blog in yahoo and still doesn't show up any results.

If you learned to optimize in Google, it is easier to optimize your site in yahoo, in my opinion.

Even if you don't submit sitemap Yahoo will spiders your site...

If your site was built correctly, i.e., it's crawler-friendly, you certainly don't need a Sitemap.

yes, that's a better option. sitemap will be of a great help for spiders to crawl your pages.

Get in the Yahoo directory. Also I think that Yahoo is more concerned about content than Google. Longer pages seem to work for me.

Sometimes the counters can be off in terms of credit. I had that same problem with my StatCounter. I have a counter off my server that I cross reference. I find that to be more reliable.
