I think social bookmarking sites were a Great idea when they first came out. However now that BlackHat SEO Gurus figured they would spread the word about how MASS SPAMMING a social bookmarking site for backlinks in order to manipulate the SERP's was an ok Idea - I think they are becoming Overrated.
Look what happened to Link farms, FFA's, WebRings, Etc.. People did the same thing with them at first when it counted & now they are blacklisted in the majority of the large engines as reputable link juice sources.
What does this mean to you? It means that pretty soon the engines are going to strip these highly manipulated social bookmarking sites of their authoritarian status, thus placing all the links in sub / omitted status along with the fact that NONE will count towards your Inbound link Juice anymore.
Sad, But thats the way the cookie crumbles..... As with everything in life, we are guilty of our own destructions (Action / Reaction - Cause / Effect).
I would personally stop focusing on social bookmarking manipulations & more on Quality organics.
Just my Opinion, But hey, Who am I to say anything compared to the Millions that think it's ok to do.
I wish you all the best of luck...
