How does google see Paid reviews

Is payperpost type paid reviews also considered as selling links ?
How does google see the sites that have paid reviews ? Is there any fear of being penalized by writing paid reviews (that ofcource have a link to the advertisiers site)

I doubt you could get penalised for it because if you could, i would do it to my competitors. They could possibly be devalued if the SE could tell it was a paid link, but no negative effect.

Am still confused ... how does google differentiate between paid reviews with links to advertisers website and paid text links ? Whats the difference ?

I think their servers see patterns in traffic

Patterns in traffic ? Not possible in my opinion, bcos how will u differentiate a link on the mainnavigation menu and a link in the paid review and a link in the non-paid genuine review.

they could possibly have some sort of proximity filter. If the link is with so many characters of the words "paid" or "sponsored" or "review" they could turn down the link juice on it.

It is something that i feel they will have trouble in determining, but remember, they do have a lot of very clever people working for them. You never know what they are doing.
