Where would you rather rank?
Assuming a display of only 10 results per page, where would you rather rank?
[1] The fifth result on page 2 of google's SERPs.
[2] The absolute last result of page 2 of google's SERPs.
And why?
Personally, I prefer choice [2]. With an optimized title and description, listings seem to catch "searchers" eyes just as they are about to use g's navigation to go to page 3. Also, as they are reaching the navigation menu, they are unconsciously becoming prepared to start clicking. If they see you right there, that clicking-impulse may be manifested on your listing.
Choice [1] can occasionally be lost in the clutter, it seems.
This is all pseudo-science and assumptions on my part. I'm sure there are some legitimate scientific studies on the subject of SERPs positioning.

On a psychological level (Considering Impulse & Page scan habits) your theory seems to make sense to me. However I don't think there is really a way to control whether you are #5 on 2 or Last on 2......
You may have the same odds playing the lottery or pulling the arm on a slot machine.
And for the one that IS able to perfect a method of repeatedly placing last on page 2, I think they would be better off focusing on page 1.
Even on page 1, the scan theory comes into play where the first & last things on a page normally receive more attention 3-5 times more than the mid-section. (Again, it's not really controllable) Normally everyone focuses on first place in everything they do for optimal results.
Interesting theory you have though....

Personally i'd like to be listed in the last spot on the first few pages. Most people will continue to scroll down to hit the 2nd button and right above that would be my listing.

Same here the I choose the 2nd choice and the it all depends now on weather if
the your title and description of your page is an eye catcher. so there
is a higher chance that they will visit my site!

I'll go for choice 1, IMO rank 5 can still catch the viewers eyes.

Well, I don't know. But your question would make an interesting survey on user behaviors from Jakob Nielsen. Who gives him the idea?

Visitors go after the rankings the higher the ranking the chances they check it first.....Why go for the last list of page 2 on SERPs if you can view first the top of it...What do you think???

We do (part of) SEO to have a high ranking in SERP, so basically I would go for #1 scenario. You have better chances at getting on the top slot than being at the bottom of the results

According to my own experiences, the number 1 and 2 spot of each page get clicked the most, and number 3 is the listing on the bottom of the page.
Anybody else ever tested it with the same keyword?

I normally skip page 1 of the SERPS because it is often filled with junk completely unrelated to what I am looking for because to many people spend all day trying to manipulate their SERP lol
I would want to be in the middle of page 2, if your title it decent people will never get to the bottom of the page because they will click the link.

--you can feel the fulfillment amongst other competitors
also the result of hard work you've been through
just to rank in the first page...

It's better to be in the top of first page. That is greater chances that your site will be selected first by the visitors..

It make sense, But I've noticed that it doesn't seem to be all that bad on being on the second, third or fourth page of google. I've seen search engine traffic from as far back as the eighth SERP.

Ranking is ranking. So, the lower your site lands on the higher your rank is. But if you are trying to put some percentage on what how many person will click you will be really unknown.

I'll go for the second choice the absolute last result of page 2,
the visitor usually look at the second third and so on
page of the Google SERPs than the first page.
