are you referring to target/major keyword from minor keyword..

target/ major- from the term itself, you focused more on it as it is your target, you add more significance on it. The main thing is you want your site to be in first page result using that KW.

minor- other option for me.. you less work on it.

IMO, major keywords are your targeted keywords which you want to rank your site via querying that keyword in SERPs. As you go on updating or SEO-ing your site, eventually those minor keywords came along naturally. Be sure not to ignore them for it will help your site to be organic.

Primary keywords are used to a related product page or merchant, -- preferably near the top, headline or sub-headline. These are your major targeted keywords.

Secondary Keywords:
These are your minor keywords. Used in the first or second paragraph or somewhere else on the page. Secondary keywords throughout the text has no particular density, but added only as they would naturally appear editorially.

Oh...so that is the different between the primary and secondary...very well said..Primary Keywords are mathematically determined by RefViz to be best for distinguishing and sorting references into groups. They are the terms that tend to be mentioned often in a subset of the references.

For Example here I have done Keyword Research on Viagra Related Keywords.

1. Viagra (Search Frequency 260)
2. Buy Viagra (Search Frequency 200)
3. Buy Viagra Online (Search Frequency 150)

In this case "Viagra" becomes primary keyword for your website and "buy viagra", "buy viagra online" keywords secondary keywords for you.

Hope this explanation is helpful for you.
