The Importance Of Images In Linkbait

Images are often an overlooked (!) feature when it comes to creating effective linkbait. Images grab attention, and attention is what you want.

However, there is a downside to images. For me, stock images reduce the credibility of pages. So having the right image, rather than just any image, is important. If using images, I'd go with something unique and remarkable.

The irony is I almost didn't link to this article because the images made me think "junk".

Nice one peter. Hehe. I got Patrick's point there. But If he is doing an article like this one, relevancy of the images in an article was not only the main concern but also how will he deliver his images to the viewers.

Image is effective on link baiting if it is also related to the content of the site that you want to link bait.

What? doing a linkbait will be penalized by google? I don't think so! since it is one of the advisable thing to do in SEO

Anyway adding image is advisable for me since it will more catch viewers attention specially when the image itself really looks good and will encourage your visitor to read its content. Just make sure that image best fits on its content. Don't use image that has no connection on its content

Great article peter_d, you are right, mostly when we read article, we always focused on the content not on the images. do you know that images can give appeal and make the user to stay and read further? i guess , we need to prioritize also the images and it will help our site also. It is possible traffic...

I'm practicing some of this actually, and really find it out very effective. its the benefit of the readers and at the same time, yourself as well.
