How important is the backlink anchor text?

Getting the right keyphrases in anchor text within the content of a page on a page that relates to the keyphrases is worth a lot.

Get the same thing on an authority site or one listed on the first page of google's serps for that keyphrase is GOLD.

Agreed, it is simply the cheapest way of SEO hands down. Put your opinions down and walah, a backlink.

It is very important - but it is a good idea to vary your backlink text naturally as well - if its all the same it can tell the SEs someone is trying to build links in an unatural way.

I would say its extremely important. It is also important to note that you should have some variety in your anchor test. The reasoning behind this is that backlinks should be acquired "naturally" and if you have all links pointing to your site with the same anchor text it may seem artificial to the engines...

I think those people who still using "click here" as an anchor text for their link was those who doesn't have an idea and a knowledge on SEO.,

Yup, I agree with you. It really does not make sense when you are using the word "click here".. It's better to use proper keywords as anchor text...

Very important. Anchor text of inbound links have very good influence on search engine rankings. It is a very good idea to try to get targeted keywords in the anchor text.

It's very important , but it has to relevant to the page it links.

Having only your target keyword as your anchor can help you to improve your serp on that keyword. Plus the backlinks it can produce. Backlinks is one of the factors which SE look for so better gain quality of it.
