What is Google Page Rank and why my site has PR2 ?

I was going through online and I found a site which calculates the google page rank....( http://www.checkpagerank.net/index.php ), I am not very clear on what exactly page rank is but still I entered my site's name and I found that my sites page rank is 2......now I m not sure is that a good or bad rank but to give you information abt my sites - I started my site just about approximately 3 months back and I dont even have too many inbound links to my site.

Can somebody please help over this.

Pagerank is the measurement of importance and how relativity of your content, and needs quality links to have a good PR! As of now PR is not that important and most of them focusing on SERP's.

My suggestion is try to create fresh quality content for your site!

Hi,

A Page rank is a ranking used by Google that is meant to act as indication of the quality of a site and its authority status. It is also the guage on how important your site is to google. So this means that your site is valuable to google. As what you've said, you need to build more links. Links are classified into two parts, 1. Inbound links and 2. Outbound links. Both are named as backlinks. Inorder to maintain such reputation as PR2 you should build more backlinks. You can do this by several different steps. You could search in this form on how to build backlinks.

Page Rank is a measure made by google using their algorithm that determines the importance of your site. It is a numeric value ranging from 0-10 that represents the relevance of each page of your site.

PR two for a newly website wasn't bad for me.

Page rank is the trademark of Google and it is an indicator of individual page value. Google calculate page rank based on the inbound and outbound links to your site.

Download google toolbar and you could view your Page Rank in a glance.

Google PR toolbar is not so accurate. There are some tools that calculate PR accurately. Try SearchStatus.

you said that you don't exactly know what a page rank is but you know what a page rank needs in order to have a value, and that is backlinks. and that is all about page rank, quality links. I think this is some kind of another "increased in PR thread" in some other sort of way...

PR of 2 on 3 month old side, with not many backlinks and from some one who is asking what PR means is not bad.

When I started with SEO I was obsessed with getting my PR higher. Later on I found out that PR does not equal money (if that is your intent), Don't get me wrong if you have a website with PR 9 or PR10, that is definitely money. If you are looking for traffic make sure to have a lot of pages, thousands with each optimized for a specific keyword.

Thanks for sharing. I'm using it right now. Yup, it's more accurate than Google Toolbar PR.

Page rank is an indication how webpage/website is important to the search engines. So if you have only PR2, just work out on link building in order for you to increase your PR....

google page rank doestnot show accurate result. so dont worry about page rank. just try to optimize ur site for a particular keywords.
