Question Is PR directly proportional to traffic?

PR is calculated based on the number of quality backlinks we have and does this also mean that if we have more number of inbound links our traffic will also go up?

I mean our SERP results go up or not?

There's no guarantee that you could get lots of traffic when you have tons of backlinks or high PR.

Another thing.. PR and traffic is not directly related to SERPs ranking.. SERPs ranking depends on the site's structure, second is the site's activity

The more quality inbound links you have there is a chance for your site to
have a higher PR.

If I were you I will balance producing quality content and quality inbound links.
That may put you in SERP.

And regarding the traffic, it all depends on who is your target keywords and
visitors. Often if your in SERP's using your target keywords, you will have a
good traffic.

the increase in number of inbound links increases the number of chances your site might be visited. so if visited your traffic will increase...

might be in some cases but i think is not...

it is still important to have a higher traffic than higher PR with low traffic.

This whole PR thing just might go away rumors have been going on about getting rid of the PR on the tool bar with the next new upgrade.

As the rumors go voting and traffic is going to dictate top rankings like traffic does for top rankings for AdWords.

This has been in the pipline for a while now I am just hearing about how possible implementation is going to take place.

As always this whole PR thing has been over rated for to long. I have had pages with a PR6 many times with no backlinks and only one paragraph showing figure that out.

Just goes to show how inaccurate this has been all along. With this latest Google slap PR on sites are all over the place again.

Good traffic sites have been slapped down and sites made for Adsense have risen again.

So in my opinion work on traffic and forget PR.

PageRank (PR) is a numerical value which represents the popularity of a website. This is status given to websites by google.com , that is coming from their algo. on the last update, they are more focus in "ON page"

... and also if you have huge quality backlinks definitely you have a good traffic.
but it doesnt guarantee gets you on ranking and PR is only component on SERP

1. Yes & content
2. No, inbound links don't mean traffic will go up. It is determined by the keyword and the quality of the links.
3. SERP has to go with how each of your page is SEO & where the origin of the links to that page comes from. For example, if you get voted as page 1 of DIGG with a good article you can expect your SERP to increase.

PR is just a number that reflects IBL's. SERPS have more bearing on your sites importance than a PR.
