Mine was way too different. When I had checked all my keywords, I usually found out that MSN ranks highest rather than Google and Yahoo. It's pretty odd because I didn't have to optimize for msn but it ranks higher than the two.

Four basic things you can do now to improve your search engine rankings.
The single question I am asked more often than any other is, "How can I rank better in the search engines." While there are thousands of different things that people can do to rank well, we have found that most sites out there that have a specific niche can do four things to help their sites rank better and get more traffic. Here is our four step formula.
There are four main keys to good Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
1. Title tags - every page needs a unique and descriptive title tag.
2. On-page content - every page needs unique, informative information that is easily read by spiders and humans alike.
3. Links - every site needs a system for building links.
4. Freshness of content - every site needs to keep their site regularly updated with fresh content that will bring humans and spiders back for more.
In our upcoming articles, we will discuss each of these main concepts in detail.

I have found that msn really likes the meta keywords. I would work on that if you havent already. However, most of your traffic will likely come from yahoo and google.

Seems like there may be some type of new waiting period or sandbox like effect in MSN..... I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out becuase it doesn't seem to matter much where you are in MSN - you still get little traffic from them..... but I have noticed a change and and it's getting more difficult and taking longer to appear in MSN...

Yeah. It's getting harder and longer to be at MSN. My site is more than 2 months now but the indexed pages are only 4. There's an issue a month ago about the changes in MSN's algorithm and there's some problem with their database. Don't know if this is the real cause...

MSN places a lot of weight to on-page content. Make sure that keywords is in the title and description of your meta tags and aim for keyword density of around 3%. But for last few months, it is not easy to rank keywords on MSN because of some changes on algorithm and problem with the MSN Bot. But to rank in MSN is to used keywords in your URL.

I think MSN places a lot of value to on-page content, placement of content and key phrases are important. A page that has good placement of keywords in the title, heading and opening paragraph will usually rank very well.

MSN unfortunately doesn't give much traffic. Compared to Google. I don't think you have to do anything extra other then Meta Keywords for MSN.
