Same here I think unique visitor are more important.,

having more unique visitors means you have a n interesting site or contents.so it's really important if we focus more on how to drive more traffic...

I also go for Unique Visitors because the visits are coming from different IP addresses and most of these are quality visits...

And is that good if i m getting above 100 unique visitors for a 6 months old website.

I prefer looking at uniques, but I also look where they are coming from. There is a lot of "useless" traffic for some sites. I wouldn't even count traffic from a site like facebook when looking at my conversion ratio.

Of course Unique visitors are matters. No. of hits can show you how popular your site is among the users but Unique hits show your site's span.
