I'm not sure of the point of the article - lot's of salesy waffle 'do you suffer from SEO tunnel vision' with silly examples; 'take a dose of Web Reality' etc.
Here's the article in one sentence:
"Don't over-focus on SEO to the detriment of your site customers."

That's it. Actually, I think he was just larking around, making a small but obvious point in a breezy way.
