Where is SLURP?

Hi.

My site is 4 months old, has GPR5, daily GoogleBot and frequent MSN bot visit. But not a single visit from SLURP yet and not found by search on Yahoo. In fact Yahoo search returns plenty of links to my site, but not the site itself. I tried the free registratin with Yahoo some 3 weeks ago, even use the yahoo toolbar sometimes.

Any ideas what should I do to attract SLURP?? Thanks.

I'm not sure. Just patience and links should do it. It took me about 2 months to get hit by it, so it looks like you've been waiting longer than that.

I think you are doing all you can at this point. You are working on links, and registering your site. But most importantly, you are being patient.

I was actually having the same thing happen to me... I went and signed about 10 topic related guestbooks in a search I did in Yahoo yesterday, and the Slurp crawled my site today a bunch of times. So, I guess getting links on sites that are listed and rank high in Yahoo was that answer.

Just to update... for the first 45 days or so, SLURP visited my site once... since I did this, SLURP has been there everyday, and a total of 200+ times in the past week... I'm assuming it's not coincidence... I'd be curious if this worked for other people as well...

This is a bit unusual - because slurp was very active a few months back. But now I've noticed that its visits are below googlebot's and scooter's.

Google has hit me over 500 times so far in May (6 days). SLURP 15 times. Does that mean SLURP doesn't like me or is Googlebot always more active?

Put your link in one of those Yahoo groups and your site will be visited daily. That's my experience.

Speaking of Yahoo! groups, woiuld it be worthwhile for me to join a ton of education groups and stick my link in the resources sections?

my pleasure... just to update... since I've done that, SLURP visits my site on a daily basis... most times 10-12 times per day...
