What is the best strategy to create backlinks?

I have been searching for this but have not been able to find the information which can help me...everytime I search for this most of the times I just end up landing to a site with a never ending sales letter and which claims to bring you thousands of backlinks within minutes...well I am not sure whether or not these things work.

I know that v7n is a community where we have some great publishers and webmasters who can really help me in this case.........if I narrow my question then I am interested in knowing a step by step procedure of building backlinks to my site.

It would be of great help to me as well as other publishers like me if you could share your valuable knowledge here.

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Hi Nikhil,

Whatever I write may or may not work for you and as such I cannot take any responsibility if this has an adverse affect on your website but it seems to work for us :-)

We are currently on the number one page under the phase 'website design' and use the LINK MARKET as a way of ensuring that whatever Back Links we have are vetted by us first.

Back Links are very important as the more you have, the faster your website will get indexed and the higher up the search engines you should go.

Just make sure that you do not have any banned (blacklisted) websites linking back to you or this may cause you to be barred (Sandboxed) via the search engines - especially Google who is hot on how they spider, index and subsequently classify a websites points and ultimately their position within the ranks.

I prefer quality directories submission and forum postings,.
Just remember its not just about the quantity rather on its quality

Here's the best strategy I've come up with: Write compelling, interesting, informative, uncommon content that people will naturally want to link to.

I was with link market for a while, mostly spammy crappy sites there.

Try also do link exchange submission all you have to do is to find link partners the relevant to your site and email the webmaster ask them and tell them that you want link exchange to there website which site that relevant to you site

I had a list of publishing article website. I wrote my first articles and got rejected because of links within the articles. I have resubmitted them. Once they approve I will let you know.

That's it!

Submit your website to directories and go to some big forums like v7n
and do QUALITY posts.
Then google will index you very fast and you easily can get found.

I think articles may be the fastest way. Posting in directories is nice but you're limited in the amount of searchable text there. I think articles make your content unique and like others said, something that people WANT to link to, but also, it improves your standing with keywords as well because there is more text. So you kind of do two things at once.
