Do SEO Companies Charge too Much???
Hi Gang,
Do you think SEO Companies charge too much money?
I have come across SEO companies who charge beween £500.00 and £1,000 ex VAT per month and guess what - there are no guarantees (how can there be).
The question is, are some SEO comopanies exploiting the average bunny by frighting them into 'if you don't spend money you will fail......'
What do ya think.....
Merry Xmas,
Darren

SEO, like every other service in a free market economy, base their prices on demand and the perceived worth of such service.
Is it too much?
That depends on the results a particular SEO company can deliver and quantify. Some would be hard pressed to justify spending $100, while others may spend $100,000 without a second thought.
Bottom line, there are a lot of variables in pricing an SEO campaign, or any other service or product. A service is worth exactly what someone else thinks it's worth -- nothing more, nothing less.
< that's how much I think my response is worth, maybe too much for some

I think many people advertise here for submitting to directories, writing on message boards , posting on digg, stumbling ...so on and so forth - for pretty cheap. We should first exhaust these services before moving on to paying for SEO experts.

it is depends on the services does the SEO companies offer. it is really true that seo companies charge too much money but giving best services. the best things you do is to check if it is a legitimate seo company and if the services is true.

SEO companies can get away charging huge money mainly because many people don't have much knowledge on this.
Its not the SEO people only. Clients always want instant result, which does not go with SEO.
I think $500-$1000 is a good price.

Let me ask you a question:
When you go to the lawyer how much you pay? Does your lawyer always guarantee success in court?
Real SEO expert provide not only link building but also review of a website structure, fixing technical mistakes, content writing, design improvement etc... In well developed countries real SEO experts makes about $50-200/ hour.

Ahahhaha seems like the attorney example is taken by all the SEO people and I think the comparaison is absolutely not the same.
As far as I am concern SEO people are not fixing technical mistakes, are not copywriters and are not web designers !
BTW how do you feel to take money from webmasters to get listed in you directory/SEO site and then remove it a few months later without reimbursing? Is this a new rip off SEO from your company?
I will never give you the SEO or recommend your company as I gave you my confidence as a member of this forum.

Yes, my website ManhattanService used to sell links from directory and now we removed it because Google can punish for this. We sold only 10-12 links (other links was from our friends and our own websites) for $10-20 and we refunded money to everyone we was able to find. The problem was... our e-mail manhattanservice@yahoo.com and linkmanhattanservice@yahoo.com was trashed with 200-300 spam e-mails / day and we wasn't able to locate all our customers. We still own money to 4-5 website owners.
If your site was one of the websites which bought a link, pm me and i will send you money back on your PayPal.

You can try services by Indian SEO companies. They are affordable and would also guarantee the results.
And yes, before fixing any company, check their current and previous works results and testimonials.

Some Indian companies are good and they charge 10 times less than US companies. I recommend to check background and contact their previous clients directly.

IMHO, it's definitely not worth for that. You see, if their articles really work that well, then they don't need to write to others but for their own service. Don't you agree with me?
It's like they can create some quality articles like techCrunch did

Free market dictates SEO prices. The question whould have been if the so called SEO Companies/Gurus realy know what they are doing. I think the problem is finding some one you can trust not some "ULTIMA SEO" company that for $1000 is going to submit your website to 1000 directories.
The truth is that SEO companies cannot guarantee anything and if they say they can guarantee you a certain rank on search engine.... RUN!!!
Here is what Google had to say about the whole thing

Well, SEO ain't a piece of cake. You need to do a LOT of analysis and also have a lot patience doing step by step work gradually improving your SERPs.
Also they can't guarantee anything because they don't own the search engines.
You have to go with their previous record of handling websites (portfolio in short) or do the entire tiresome thing yourself
