Question Global Links - Please take a look and is this the way forward?

Hi All at V7 Network,

We are all aware that Google loves to see links from other websites driving traffic (Juice) to our respective websites.

This is especially true if the links are coming in from websites in a similar field as opposed to non related traffic / web links.

It also appears to be also true that one way links are far more beneficial then reciprocal links as Google tends to see this as more valid forms of traffic / juice, than simply asking another company website to 'swap links' though how they can differentiate from Paid for links is a little more complex.

We at Webcreationuk have tried very hard to ensure that we have gone down the right road and even though this had been a long journey, all seems to be panning out.

HOWEVER - it is a fairly common statement to make that other website design companies would feel it non beneficial to point a link at us as this could cause them to lose business and as such this is where global links come into play and would like your feedback on the validity of such an undertaking.

We have made it our mission to contact the web community in other countries to ask them to point traffic to us and in return we will use one of our portal websites (not our home page) to point traffic back to them and as such avoid the reciprocal debate that has been going on for some time.

The question that my team has raised is how beneficial is it to use links from other websites that are hosted in other countries that are naturally under a completely different set of IP addresses and as such ranked differently by Google dependent on the Country it is being searched under.

Please can you let me know as we are still forging ahead with UK links but would like your feedback as to whether Global links are also worth pursuing.

Best wishes,

David Webb

Yes they are. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be worth it. Links are good.

Hi David,
I agree with Rankestein that global links will definitely help you,
and one way links are good.

However I think there are other methods to build these links than talking
to so many web design companies, who will definitely be wary that they'll lose
customers to you by putting up your link, even if they are in another country.

One thing I'd like to stress is that backlinks from 'unrelated' niche will do very well
for seo, so long as you have your desired link-tag mix.
So why not do it the easier and faster way? Again 80/20 rule here.

Study your competitor and find out what they are doing:
Look at the top guy in SERP for your keyword in UK, and check his backlinks here

Get the tips?
How about making up some free but good wordpress templates, website templates, put your backlink with the keyword there, and share them over download sites?

If you have a little budget for link building, go to those webmaster forums and buy some
blog link packages etc. This will save you a lot of time and headache.

oops somehow the link got an extra http there that's why it did not work.
But then I think you got my point anyway.
Study those sites that are higher than you in google, check what backlinks
they have and then probably you can emulate their strategy or even try to get
some of the same links.

And if you're doing a wordpress template, I wouldn't mind to have a sponsor
link to one of my sites .

I don't worry about linking because I believe that all that really matters is good content reached my many users. This might happen with advertising a web site among targeted audience. I have a brand new non-english web design templates site that got high rank in Google with PR 0 only because it is visited by thousands of people and they appreciated it.
