you're right. unfortunately on hitting submit it redirects from http://networksubmit.indn.org to searchking and ends at a dead end...

i'll hunt around some more or is the service defunct?

Right now, I'm recommending these directories:

www.sevenseek.com
www.uncoverthenet.com
www.thisisouryear.com
www.wowdirectory.com
www.bluefind.com
www.goguides.com

and check out http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php and http://www.isedb.com

And: http://www.v7n.com/forums/web-directory-issues/7616-web-directory-list.html

Really good article John,

A lot of good info in one spot instead of having to scour the web / forum.

One thing I am not sure of though is that some directories may not release PR onto some of their pages, is it still worth placing a link on these?

I am not saying that google PR is the be all and end all but sometimes I feel loathed to pay a directory if their the specific page I am being listed on isn't listed in google.

A problem with the strongest links page, is that it links to a lot of non-SE friendly directories.

There are a couple of other good resources here:

Here's a list of recommended directories for submitting to, for SEO purposes:
http://www.platinax.co.uk/webmasters/articles/6/

There's another good resource list of directories here:
http://www.internet-search-engines-f...irectory.shtml

Linkage and anchor text is 90% of SEO.

... at least for now. Things can and will always continue to change as SE technology continues to evolve.

I don't see the importance of linkage and anchor text changing any time soon. No other possible candidates, IMO.

No, but I'm sure down the road, things will evolve that will spice things up some more... Google will keep us guessing whenever they can.

I'm pretty sure I'm just having a slow night in my brain, but I don't get how clustering relates to SEO.

you will need to get on topic themed inbound links. for example if search engine watch links to my blog that is super duper cool for me.

Yeah, but what defines, or what will define a cluster. If it's based upon the obvious, then people will figure out ways as always.

right, but the potential linkage pool for any field would decrease. off topic links would lose a good bit of their value and on topic links could become far more expensive.

search for "web design":
http://www.google.com/search?q=web+d...start=100&sa=N

on this page search for "web_design" and you'll find:
Google Directory - Computers > Internet > Web Design and ...Web Design and Development, Computers > Internet > Web Design and Development, Go to Directory Home. Categories. Accessibility (115) Authoring ...
directory.google.com/Top/Computers/ Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/ - 6k - 25 Nov 2004 - Cached - Similar pages

Google parses keywords separated by underscore "_"
this was known at least back in may:

I am new to this and this was a very good overview for me. I was interested in knowing the URL's for the major search sites that I can lookup keyword usage? Do you know what they are and can you post them for me?
Thanks,.........Jeff
