Don't let a developer be lead singer in your band
LOL,
It wasn't a cut.
Just meant to say they tend to focus too much on the way it looks or feels and don't think much about goals and objectives, or what the site can do for them.
Don't let your lead singer manage the band or develop a site.
Don't let a developer be lead singer in your band.
example - lead guitar player for a famous band, one of the best guitar jockies in the world, new manager comes in, tells him he makes what he does look to easy, changes the lighting to focus on the face and guitar and so when his solo comes, it now looks like he has to struggle to squeeze it out.
Now you're cooking with gas.

Google doesn't recognize the words by themselves.
If you want Google to parse the keywords in the URL, use a hyphen instead of underscore.

If you search with site: www.wdpi.com sun storage -- it bolds and recognizes http://www.wdpi.com/sun_storage.htm -- so is this argument purely for the allinurl query?

Great article but you might also post a warning about consistently using the same url for linking to with the link text as well. Newbies tend to dilute their results by offending in that area.

maybe i'm misunderstanding, are you saying all/most links shouldn't be to http://www.mydomain.com ?

Not what he's saying. You don't want to use the exact same anchor text in all the links. If you had a website about suzuki bikes, and its url was www.suzuki-bikes.com , you can have all the link to the home page, but the link text should not all be "Suzuki Bikes", or whatever you are targeting. Some of the links could use the anchor text "Suzuki Motorcycles" and some could use "Suzuki Off Road", etc. Just don't use the exact same anchor text on all your links.

Hiya Madness, and welcome to the forums.
It's basic SEO, and it is there for webmasters new to SEO. When you run a forum as large as this one, you end up getting the same basic questions over and over again, and this thread has been the starting point for many. I'd be surprised to see an advanced SEO "Do It Yourself" thread stickied, because it would be like building the roof before laying a foundation. However, if you'd like to write an advanced SEO basics thread, we'd be more than happy to sticky it.
