Black hat SEO Vs Ethics
A question always tease me that which one is most important, Result or Ethics ?
As we know black hat SEO is very quick in result than white hat SEO. And as a business perspective we all are here for business and doing our jobs so where we are with our ethics ?

what's the use of quick result if that result won't stay that long,,.
Think of it,...
I'll still go for white hat but most SEO are categorized in the use of gray hat technique

Yep... Better use gray hat. it's the combination of white and black hat but more on white hat.

gray hat just follows ALMOST ALL of the Google Webmaster Guidelines,.
Some example of gray hat is "duplicate content"

First of all :
Some example of gray hat is "duplicate content" - NOT true. Actually duplicate content is not even part of the process you call SEO.
There is either white hat or black hat. You can either comply with the rules or you don't. Grey hat is just a reason for some to claim they are not blackhat, when actually they break the rules.
Black hat is made by programmers who really know what they are doing, we are not talking here about text outside the screen reader to stuff keywords there ( and YES, more keywords is better, you can go with density up to 50% and you will be surprised by the results ) or use of hot targets.
When I say blackhat I say something about the real thing, people that get really high for creating networks and tricking the SE.
IMHO there is no such thing as grey hat.

Yep I would back darkstar on that one. There is nothing known as gray hat SEO to me. It might be a term used by some webmasters who think that the term really exists.
As for doing black hat SEO on any site I personally would never do it and also would not suggest anyone to go for it as that will eventually lead your business and site to no-where. It's agreed that the results are fast and what you desired for but what's the use when those results are not going to last for a short period of 6 months also.

I make it a point that I always use the proper technique's the way of white hat. You can easily get a rank using black hat but how long?

I still consider the long term effect that's why I used white hat.

I just put a spice on my technique if I want urgent results. Ethics are just used if you are working for other people. SEOs are made to counter Google's guidelines and get to the top using different methods, ethical or non-ethical.

I myself sometimes use black hat technique only for my blog and not on my main site. I enjoyed using it just for fun and not to earn money like in the adsense.

As much as possible we should comply with the guidelines...
White Hat SEO is for long term success so I'll just stick to it...
But let's face the fact that somehow we tend to do Black Hat Techniques, intentionally or unintentionally...

I disagree that there is no 'grey hat'. Link gathering strikes me as somewhat grey hat, and so does some on-page SEO - I would argue that the very fact of doing SEO means you are trying to influence the SERPs, and this in itself might be called grey hat.
Would you submit to as many directories, say, if links weren't so important to SERPs? If you answer 'no' then what you are doing is grey. I mean, you aren't doing it for the traffic from those directories, are you?
It's an interesting question, definitely something to think about.

I am 100% white hat and I love it. Why would you only want short term results that could end up getting your site banned? With white hat your work could pay off for years.
