I am generous though - I offer recip links back from what will be high PR pages. Some come and visit, link and have fun supporting my efforts.
|
Try to avoid the "offer" sound and this post will remain here. This forum is enjoying the competition, but it seems this competition also brings a few spammers into the forum so we will be extra cautious while the competition is going. We don't want members posting just for a place to drop their keyword anchor links.
This forum isn't a spam receptacle.

Why not just remove all links in this particular thread just to make sure that doesn't happen?

Two questions crossed my mind while reading this thread. I'm new to SEO so this seems like a good place to ask:
1) I assume google doesn't draw a connection between pages on the same domian...meaning that google is just going to see 124,000 pages linking to the thread, it doesn't care (or penalize) because those 124,000 pages are from the same domain. is this correct?
2) Along the same lines, I assume most of the 124,000 threads on this site are PR 0 (or 1). What kind of impact will this have on PR? If it is decent, (which I imagine it is), why don't I just write a script for my site that generates 100,000 pages of somewhat random text that link back to my main site? (as long as storage and bandwidth are not an issue).
Thanks in advance

Whether the links are internal (as they are) or external, there will be no penalty. I'm not sure I understand the question, so if I didn't answer that to your satisfaction, please let me know.

The thread right below this is PR4 :
http://www.internet-marketing-resear...topic4195.html
If the thread remains on the first page inside the forum, it will often have PR4 or PR3 when the PR is updated

The PageRank has to come from somewhere. These pages have PR because there are inbound links to the site, and to the forum, and in many cases to the subforums.
You can have as many pages as you want, but without inbound links you have nothing; or not anywhere near enough PR to get the entire site crawled.

Why did not you place a banner at IMR so more people will notice. I found this thread only today. Linking with such keyword seems rather funny, but OK.
