Articles and Usable Content on Retail Sites?

I am planning on launching a section of articles, like buyers guides, how-to's and FAQ's on the retail website I work for. I would like to do this to build relevant content and to go after link building, particularly with .edu's.
Does anyone have any experience doing this? I would also like to submit these articles to article databases- but there seem to be quite a lot of crap ones out there. Any suggestions on good legitimate ones? Thanks!

Sounds as if you have a cart and no site.....

Build a site around the cart - It's the biggest mistake made on the web. People throw up a cart and call it a site - or they throw up a forum with no site.

If you have something to say about your products say it on your site don't go after link building - it's for noobs who know nothing else.

Hello !!

You should have to do article postings on all article submission sites. Here I am providing some free article submission sites list. You may use this.

I think these are enough.
