Are directories necessary for SEO?

I have not had the time to submit my sites manually to directories, and have been getting decent links elsewhere. I am wondering if links from directories will give my serps a noticeable increase.

Of course directories are vital to SEO. Some people might think they don't carry value anymore or died out. Which granted there have been directories getting smacked, but submitting to directories and using them for other purposes can be important.

Directories is necessary for SEO as to be visible on the search engine and as to increase of keyword ranking. But you must submit your link to a related category , niche or site.

I don't think directories carry the weight that they used to, however some of the good ones are still worth it, choose carefully and submit to only the very best.

Directory is a source of back links which SEO need to improve there site SERP.

Yes it would, but a bad link from a wrong directory can bring your serps down.

It depends on the directory your are submitting.. There are plenty of directories out there choose what's a good and be aware of bad directories...

Get plenty of quality directories...

yes...even directory gives no assurance for hight traffic it help a lot to improve your site in SERP...

if you can submit a certain site without there being any waiting time be reviewed, or in short, if a certain site is being "accepted automatically", which mean no human is looking over the site you are submitting...the possibility of this is that a lot of spammers will enter to this site and submit whatever they want to submit...

Directory links helps boost your SERP so long as you submit your site to the right categories.

Just a reminder: skip those that require reciprocal links and avoid submitting to link farms posing as directories as this could hurt your site

I can take you out with tricks - back links plays a tiny little part in that - damn it it used to be so easy in the old days when links counted for something....I have to work at it now.
