What is white hat SEO?

White hat SEO method is the method of doing things in a right manner and playing by the rules. In this method webmasters don't try to trick search engines. Web pages that are created with white-hat SEO methods are user friendly as well as search engine friendly.

What is black hat SEO?

Black hat SEO method is the method to get higher rankings in ways that are disapproved or not valid by the search engines. These methods include keyword stuffing, cloaking, doorway pages, hidden text, etc.

Google and other search engines have made it clear that they may penalize websites that are using black hat SEO methods when they detect them.


Sometimes using Black Hat SEO methods you can get your site among top on major search engines but using this method may harm your website and your website could be banned by search engines. Recent developments indicate that websites that use Black hat SEO method will be in trouble soon.

I have seen quite a few SEO companies using black hat techniques on their client sites. This is a real shame and 99.9% of web owners have no idea what is going on and how such a practice can hurt their search engine rankings in the long run.

Here's the problem scuba,

By the time this things you listed above are popular, they are already dead or dying.

They are old old black hat techniques that have already died.
People still use them because they know nothing else. build quality content - target a group and have information or a product people want. Trying to take advantage of flaw id short lived. The engine gods work to correct them.
Posting links and sigs has the opposite effect you want now. BUT if you have good content it won't hurt as much.

Here's an example forextips.com is a lead collection site. Markettraders.com is the sales site (they also spam (email) using markettraders email addresses. I separated the sites and made sure no links were exchanged between the two. I recently left the company after 6 years. The new morons linked the sites. Forextips lost almost all placement in MSN and Yahoo, google is now dropping it like a rock.
They will start posting more links to try to get it back up, which will only accellerate the downward trend.....

content - content - content - is the only answer - it's hard work so people depend on easy tricks that they hope will work.

Well.....pay per post is good to earn money blogging is also a good idea.
But leaving signature links in a natural way is good but if you have lots of link in your signatures and unecessarily using it or spamming then it will be under back hat SEO.
