what do you mean limitation in numbers? in submitting?
you can submit your site as many as you can the fact that there's no guarantee that you'll be get listed to those directories...but choose it wisely...

Digitalseo already mentioned the reason if directories hold any value...

Directories nowadays are behaving differently....

Some of them doesn't want IBLs only...Some requires LE while some with payment....

Totally agree, i tend to aim at medium range pagerank but with a very high traffic rank, in most cases the directories with the high traffic really do advance in rankings so you get best of both worlds.

An individual directory isn't going to help you much, but submitted to en-masse they can be very effective

Any back links are still important 15 directories a day is really important to me.

For me Directories has still have a value. Because as long you can gain your one way links is the better...

Directories are not that good enough for link building, unless you buy it...

Because less traffic comes in to your site, I think natural links may help more, good links I guess.

the point is "directories still helps" even how weak it is, still it helps. that's what is important in SEO. valuing small things will make good results when combined all together.

Yeah, but why use the weaker method if you may use any other methods rather than directory submission? Do you think you can make your site rank in doing directory submissions only? Well I think you should wait for a couple of years before you make your site rank from directories.

I think directory,social bookmarking,forum posting and link trade is part of SEO task which really help if you combined this together. Theres nothing wrong if you add a small things that may help your site to improve your optimazation.

High PR and quality directories has great relevance. The directories in the accepting submissions in form of classified ads are really helpful from the point of view of visitors.
