What about you, and why SEO?
Geez, seems like I answered this ... guess it must of been on a different forum.

In 1997 I began building a website. I had typography experience and the coding was just about the same. It was a simple matter to change mind set.

Shortly after that I stumbled across a banner ad that said I could make money with my website simply by linking to another site. I'd get paid commissions. The beginning of the affiliate era online.

So I put up the banner and a month later (or so) got a check for $20. I soon learned that getting my site ranked high for some keywords would make that $20 check into a larger $figure ... so I began to learn how to SEO.

It was easy back then ... all you need were more keywords. LOL - a far cry from today.

So, that is how I got into it ... probably the same story lots of us can tell.

Why do I still do it today? That is a tougher question. I don't know. Sometimes I think I'm nuts. I still like SEO and really do enjoy doing it. I'm just doing it at the wrong place. I think all SEO people should work independently, solo, rather than the "SEO firm" way. You can form a better working relationship with your clients and you don't have other people ruining the trust you can build. Plus you get to keep ALL the money! ... money money money money money ... Oh Ya! ... that's why I do this!

LOL - Do not worry Flowman315 - I don't think anyone can seriously say they know everything which is why I started a thread entitled - 'can anyone really know all there is to know about SEO' and the verdict seems a clear NO...

Take it easy buddy.
