What is the best way to link a backlink?

Does anyone know the correct and most effective html format to create a backlink. I am stumped on this and whether to add the http://www. or even www. in the html. If someone could give me a good example I would really appreciate it.

a complete url address is much more advisable than putting up only "www" or an "http://" without a "www"...

What's the difference? Some would prefer either with www or without www. It does not affect your SEO position or traffic.

I will go with the full http://www. For internal links, I think its better to use absolute links.

I think people are missing Bogs' joke. :}

Frankly, it doesn't matter as long as you are consistent and 301 the one you don't use to the one you do.

users usually types an address without an http or www, that's why programmers uses redirection for redirecting to a complete URL address...

what you are saying is irrational, obviously, a site cannot be located or even published without an http://www or http://...

Most browsers assume http:// and if they can't find the domain they redirect it to a search engine query.

Of course, ftp:// and https:// are also among the valid protocols for a URL.

It's not irrational, obviously, if your site does not run without www, meaning your site is weak. You should know how to have your site easier to type, because most of the people does not type www before the domain name.

My tips

My tips is to add this in .htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^WEBSITE\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.WEBSITE.com/$1 [R=301,L]

I also include the http:// when building links.

Now I think you should also focus on your anchor texts

Some directories or submissions need you to include "http://www" ... otherwise your work is completely a waste of time.
