Do Both... it's not that hard to submit your site in directory sites. and it's not hard to post in any forum unless you really have no idea what the forum topics is

both forum postings and directory submission are important, it depends on how you look at it in SEO perspective.

I preffer forums posting also directory submission in case of forums posting everybody can show the signature links and we can get some traffic from those post.

I cant choose since i prefer both. Submit your url to directories and do posting on forum together is the best.
This question just same as gold and money which you want, you cant just tell the answer, you need more information to judge. For me, i want both.

I disagree. The fact it takes months doesn't means it's bad. I've been having tons of visitors from certain directories, especially some local ones which are trusted by their visitors. But forum signatures indeed help. That's only half of the things to, the Latent Semantic Optimization process might really help a website rank better. LSO optimized content vs normal "good content", guess who's the winner.
