I bet it's forum posting, it may be easily recognized because there are many people participating in forums.

Forum posting is better than directory submissions since we know that directories takes time to review the site while in forum. Just contribute a posts and you are done...

I'll choose forum posting.. It's better because it has fast result in creating backlinks while in directory submission it takes long before your links will be listed on the directory...

I think the answer is pretty obvious,. Its forum posting, every post is consider as fresh content which tend to spiders for frequent crawling. If the forum wasn't using a no follow attribute, through our signatures, it will surely lead to backlinks,.

RE:
Yes, forum posting is better but if we are getting links from high PR relevant directories then it is much better

While forum psoting is much easier, the links are almost worthless when it comes to pagerank. Directories are much more important in the long run. This thread is unranked and has probably 100 links on it, which means, your link does absolutely nothing for you.

Forum posting without a doubt.
Forums get crawled a lot more in comparison to web directories due to the content available in active forums. Participating in a forum related to your niche also adds value as you get related backlinks to your website.

Forums are less in amount comparing with directories. We have many and many free web directories on net.
So, Instead of having links from just few domains (forums). Why not go for Directories submissions, better to get more links. But yes, without doubt, forums posting are useful and easier to do. Directories will take time to review your website submission before including in your category in directory.

Not worth much on SEO...Links need to come from high PR pages, which forums are not.

Forum Posting really works well...
I've already proven it...
PR is not the only basis for determining quality links...
It is only one of the many factors that we have to consider...
RELEVANCY should be prioritize because this is one of the vital criteria of search results...

Very true...But pagerank is very important to Google. I would take 1 PR7 directory submission on a page with 10 other like websites over 1000 forum post with unranked pages and 100 links.
Forums will get your website listed in Google more times but not likely to move you up in search results.

Obviously forum posting is better than directory submission. It takes time to review your site in directory submission while you can get backlinks as well as traffic in less time in forum posting.
