Build good quality content and submit it to digg or just keep posting good quality content and let it viral through social networks I don't know why people think submitting social media sites will boost there traffic maybe to a degree, but it just don't work that good.

Yeah, the buttons after a certain post or near the footer. I think they can help your site provided that the users must already be registered.

Social bookmarking will help you to increase traffic to your site, will help you to brand your site. And the SB sites that dont us e nofollow will pass link juice as well

Regarding social bookmarking it is very very useful for the traffic generating of websites. But when you are submit your site in sbm site we have to follow the below suggestions

1) high page rank sbm sites
2) submit with tags
3) direct linked sites
4) link shared sites
5) submit high page rank sites with related your site
