Ok PFB, why no <meta name="robots" content="index,follow"> in your poop? You're the David Copperfield of this forum, and your solomonesque style defies all common SEO ABC's but the results speak for themselves. No strings, no hustle, you're giving, we're getting..(I get it)

You don't have to tell the robots to follow - that's what they do.
They'll eat everything they can find including sensitive files (including databases). Hackers have been using the engines for years because they eat everything

The hard part is getting them not to follow.and protecting your stuff - some of these ISPs are so so lame allowing access/download of databases and of sensitive files.

When I did the first search above - Just for the hell of it I downloaded one of the online store databases and it gave me an unencrypted admin username and password.

moron ISP's - always get a good host. The is no FTP I can't get into in 6 hours (ssh will take 7) - I don't use hosts for my clients that allow FTP access for sensitive files or the web site.

There is absolutely no reason to add a robots meta tag to your pages to tell the search engines to index and follow your pages when they do that automatically by default anyway.

Thanks. I am re-doing my site using your tips and suggestions. Also, I like looking at other peoples stuff to find clues to thier success.

if it's a real product or service, I'll help out.
As you can tell I'm bored lately.

Have a couple of big ones coming up in a few weeks (give or take) but like always Sites are always a rush rush thing until you tell them the cost and want it up front....lol

I'm just trying to provide some inexpensive web design to people that may have a small business or a side business and don't want to hire some expensive designer. I want to pickup some spare change, and try to learn along the way. I've only been doing this for 6 months, trying weed thru the BS. I'll put up my site for review one of these days, like you said, if you're lazy you won't get the desired results.Thx, Scô¿ôtt

My advice is to start by contacting a local ISP and make your services available to him.
he will use you and take a cut or pay you a cut.

the online web design business is tough if you're just starting out. you'll spend so much time trying to beat every other web monkey in the engines you won't have time to work.....lol

If you're going to do a site - beat the local competition first - don't start out trying to take on the world.
