Yet another URL string question, case

So I understand that the best URL string for SEO uses hyphens like ...

www .my-cool-portal/this-is-my-website

How about case? Does it matter? Is there any difference between the following two in terms of SEO?

www .my-cool-portal/this-is-my-website
www .My-Cool-Portal/This-is-my-website

the domain name part does not matter as all will resolve to the same location.

do the filepaths in lower case though so they are easier to remember and get links to.

So the reason why many sites use lowercase is not that they rank better, but that it's easier to get inbound links and let people remember particular URLs, consequently, it can probably contribute to get slightly more traffic. Is that right?

some people forget to capitalize them if you mix big & small. whether those are people typing it into the browser or linking to you it still can cost you some traffic. some scripts do not handle capital letters either.

I have found some lowercase urls in my error log. I have been using mixed case to make names easier to read (instead of privacyprotectionsoftware.html I would use PrivacyProtectionSoftware.html). They seem to be coming from sites that pull google feeds. I guess that I should change to having hyphens in my names from now on.

Why do lowercase versions of my pages show up in my error logs?
