SEO that works

A great SEO article by Michael Small I thought might be useful.

Quote:
Search engine optimization has been around almost as long as search engines have. It probably started about five minutes after someone realized there was money to be made on the Web, but only if your site could be found easily enough.

Good article, essentially content writing and on page optimization. Off page though IMO is more important.

Off page is not more important. There are a lots of thing to do about your content, people always care about linking and promoting, but no one ever thinks about the content.

Many SEO experets believe content is 40% to 60% important for how your website will rank. I'm referring to the Semantic search engines, such as Google and Yahoo which are using the Latent Semantic Indexing method to rank the sites, this is part of the Latent Semantic Optimization process which I'm going to explain soon. Of course, this is not the only thing that ranks your site, but the Content is REALLY important. People are going mad about their backlinking, soon this will be over.
