Getting URL to show up

Hello. This is my first time posting so I hope I'm posting in the correct section.

I have been given the task of submitting our site to the SEs. I've been submitting it and realize that it takes time for it to show. However, my boss wants it to show up in the SEs now. He's not concerned about ranking, just seeing the site listed when we type in the URL.

I tried sending out a press release so that it could be seen when he typed it in but that hasn't worked. Does anyone have any ideas re how I can just get the site to show up. I'm not concerned with ranking at the moment.

Thanks.

make sure to get at least one link to the site at another site that get's spidered by search bots. that's the fastest way.

hi stwillia
welcome to the forums.

ask jeeves takes about a month and a half to pick up sites usually, but yahoo and google can pick stuff up rather quickly if you have links from rapidly changing or really popular content.

why not consider adding your website's url to your signature that goes on your posts here. also submit your site to directories.

this article might help you out

One more thing....

Thanks for the quick responses. One quick question: How do I find out which sites the spiders frequently crawl? :

get a google toolbar, the ones with a high ranking obviously get crawled. Also, take Awall's advice and put the site in your signature on this board. It get's crawled a lot.
