Strange MSN SERP results

Ill try to make this short :-)

My client has 14 keywords we are targeting, each word has its own page on the site. In Yahoo and Google we show page 1 results for 12 of the words but in MSN for the past 2 months we are all 0. The pages are indexed but i searched 200 results in and they don't show up. Before February we were showing up for at least 6 of the words on page 1 and 2.

The strange thing is if you do an exact phrase search (wrapping the word in quotes) 10 of the words show up on page 1 results.

I haven't seen this happen in any other results for any other client.

So any clue as too why they would suddenly disappear from regular search and only show in exact phrase? Does MSN have a supplemental type index we don't know about? Its all original content and the words are semi competitive and all are local, only one national word.

Any ideas????

you wanted to have a keyword ranking right? having your keywords as a signature and posted to forums might help, plus do directory submission.

Id rather my clients targeted keywords rank for natural content worthy ranks, not just because im plastering the keyword all over the internet in forums. Trying to stay whitehat here, not black or gray. The directory listing we have done, to relevant directories though.

This is more of an MSN algorithm question, as to why the results are showing up the way they started to. They used to rank page 1 suddenly all 0's, but exact phrase search they rank page 1.
