Hi,

There are a lot of ways to get traffic for a website like link exchange, directory submission, article submission, RSS submission, Press release submission etc. I want to know your views about what are the best ways to get quick and a lot of traffic to a website or waht are the most effective way to increase number of visitors to your site.

You can get traffic in social bookmarkings. But if your craving for big amount of traffic I suggest you to go for google ppc ads campaign. Just my thought.

One way, to get traffic also is the content of the article, relevancy and accuracy is very important. The content of the article must be something like "attention getting", to drive more traffic and so visitors will keep on coming back to your site.

The quickest way to get a lot of traffic to your website is by PPC, such as Google Adwords. Such a campaign takes effect immediately and will start attracting traffic.
It will be costly though and should be supplemented by SEO in the long term, social media and all the other methods.

I agree that social bookmarkings can drive you a traffic but some of them also drives only traffic in a short time not for long term.

As what they've said, Social Bookmarking is one of the best ways to get higher traffic. Or the not really recommended one to drive traffic is to join some Traffic Exchange Programs or sites where in other users or some are bots visit other sites in exchange to get visited.

SM is good though only works for Universal appeal website like say, a image or video website or a funny/news blog but ya, u can get good traffic from them so worth spending 5 mins
