My site redesign effect on seo work??

Hi all

I have an static site, its on good postion on required keywords, but now i want to redesign my site, will it effect on SEO work ?? Because i dont want to loose ranking...

It depends on what type of redesigning you'll do, if your planning to create a site that consists mostly on flash, then think again. But if your changing it into a web 2.0 or something and the content, title and other stuffs are still intact, then I think it won't get affected that much.

As heatman writes, it really depends on the type and scope of the redesign. If you keep the same URL's, while keeping the headers and body text intact, a redesign won't change much.

If on the other hand, you change the URL's and shuffle around the content, remember to redirect the old URL's to the relevant new ones and expect a bit of a bumpy ride in the SERPs.

As long as the site content, meta tags, and URL's won't be changed, I think you shouldn't worry much.

When you redesign the site... Make sure it would be MORE SEO friendly than the previous design... Good luck then...

if you'll do miniminal site redesigning then you there's no need to worry that much about ranking

If you complete change the design, that i have seen sites getting dropped. (kind of funny, isn't it ?) but anyway you should be able to get back easily.
