IMO first thing to do is to get answers for all these questions then set a strategy, not all websites requires same techniques.

Start with less competitive keywords using keyword suggestion tools...

and also using long tail keywords also helps...

Also you should consider to use/offer PayPer Click advertisement (Adwords etc) in order to test quality of the landing pages.

wait, are you starting a real company? or just targeting the keyword SEO Services Company,

BTW, i think when starting a SEO Company, you should first hire the best SEO's in the business or consult them. then you must have networks of clients or leads so that you won't end up short in the future. then look for a nice office... and be good to your employees, because good relationships really helps. and motivate them just like my bosses do... just be a good leader and things will come.

The main point is if a SEO company rank high or has a high PR it's a good sign. Too many claim themself "SEO company"

SEO cost money to be effective, if a SEO ask low, it means you will have low results or none, as you know SEO is time consuming.

How many keywords a SEO company plan to optimize? 3, 4, 5 ?

I saw many SEO ready to optimize 3 keywords for $1500 (setup fee) and $500 per month. So $7,500 a year for 3 keywords? That will make the keyword/year around a couple thousands.

Sorry, I prefer doing the job myself :-)

Are you starting up your own SEO Service Company? Hmm... Well, of course you must have enough knowledge in the broad worlds of SEO. 2nd, you must have prospective client (you might not think to have your own SEO service company without any prospective client). 3rd, you must have TEAMMATES; you cant work alone... start with some knowledgable SEO friend of yours (if you have).
