How to effectively use stumbleupon.com for SEO

Hi,
I just started looking at social bookmarking as a way to promote my website. I have opened an account at stumbleupon.com and I am now wonderring how to get the best of this website.

any idea?

many people uses stumble upon because it is credible in driving traffic to your site.

Maybe I don't understain but all I found about using this site to drive traffic is to add my site in my stumble's favourites.
Do you think there is a better way to use it?

SEo means search engine optimization. Stumble has nothing tyo do with SEO. It only gives you some traffic. And there is not much you can do. People need to bookmark you. Got it. Just put a bookmark script from addthis.com on your site. Thanks.

Stumble upon is a great way to drive traffic. Build your network with your related interest people before bookmarking

look for friends interested in your product or service then they tend to click your stumbled site...

Submit your site and see if people like it, that's the gist of it. Make sure you pick the correct category or your results may suffer. You can also launch an advertising campaign that is considered by some (depending on you niche) to be a great method of driving traffic to your site. Good luck.

By the way, I would not make a habit of submitting pages that you don't consider to be highly valuable as your Stumble account may quickly become powerless (fewer or no stumblers will see your pages). Only submit pages that rock, either your own or others, just don't submit junk.

Don't rely much on stumbleupon...I think you should do some directory submission, blog commenting, and forum posting first for your site to be indexed fast by google and you can do that site bookmarking with stumbleupon later.

I'm not more into stumbleupon.com because there are lots of other Social Bookmarking sites that works well for me compared to this site...

Digg.com and Propeller.com are two good alternatives...

StumbleUpon is just one of many bookmarks used by SEO. Try to use Digg, Propeller, and Squidoo. They are the best for me.

Stumbleupon provides you traffic. From an SEO standpoint - it gives you a backlink. In a more general aspect, it increases your visibility to other members. If such members sees value in your site, they might link to it in their website. if this happens, such organic links will give you more SEO benefits.

Stumble is great for traffic. The traffic ebenfit outways the secondary SEO benefits you might receive. Stumble links are nofollow but if your site really rocks maybe other people will blog about it if they see it on Stumble.

It's effective for some sites.. In my case, i don't consider it as a credible traffic source. As far as I know, you need to have many friends in order to generate enormous traffic..

Sometimes all it takes is on kick-arse article to get you noticed. Get some viewers to notice and get interested in your site and if you have quality content they’ll stick around.

Well, try to use link bait or target long tail sometimes you must improve your landing page to improve your market.
