Microsoft gives up on Yahoo

Microsoft will not go after Yahoo and raise their bid.

Microsoft withdraws bid for Yahoo

Microsoft abandons Yahoo bid, rebuffing higher sale price

Microsoft Walks Away From Yahoo After Fight on Price

This seems, to me, a shock. I expected Microsoft to raise their bid. Excpect Yahoo shareholders to start a storm or see someone else come in with another bid.

well that's good... because if yahoo joins forces with microsoft, it won't feel the same anymore... and it'll also be a threat to google...

I believe that Microsoft can still settle this deal maybe they want to make some formality or changes before they collaborate with yahoo.

I think the possibility of this transaction to materialize is slowly getting out of reach...
After the statements made to each other by Steve Ballmer(CEO of MSN) and Jerry Yang(CEO of Yahoo) the transaction seems to be floating in the air right now...
They'll end up working on their own and formulate some strategy for them to keep up with Mighty GOOGLE...

What gonna happen now is Yahoo stock prices would go down (they rose to about 29 or so from about 19 since MS made the offer). And lot of shareholders would get angry and they would start pressuring the Yahoo board.

Eventually Yahoo got three possibilities:
- Use Google ads as they tested recently. Somehow I think Google and Yahoo would not merge.
- Yahoo get sold to AOL.
- Yahoo reconsider MS deal.

Whatever happens this would be ugly. Along with Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton we have MS and Yahoo

I don't think that there's anybody out there who can even match, let alone top the offer MS which had made to Yahoo.
