Old or new domain?

I'm about to start a new niche website and I'm trying to get the best domain for it. Does age of a domain really matter that much?

Example: I have two suitable domains I'm choosing from - both are PR0 and zero backlinks but the one is two months old while the other one is 7 years old.

Does it make any difference? Will I rank better in search engines with the older domain?

I think that the age of a domain plays a very important role for search engine ranking as older domains are ranked better. So I advise you to use older domain.

The older domain has its pros and cons. If the domain has a bad history (for being banned, penalized, frequent ownership transfer, etc), it would be better to start with a new and fresh domain. The advantage is that it may draw direct traffic form the previous users of that site.
