Link building is very important but… without GOOD CONTENT nobody will link to your site and links from SE and Directories alone is not enough to get to the top.
Content will make you free! Here is the proof.
2 month old site, no backlinks, page #1 in Google.
Try Google for: alexa sucks proof
and look for middlefingeraward.com
Any questions?

A website without content is not a website at all...
The term "alexa sucks proof" for middlefingeraward.com is not on page#1 anymore...
Its on page#2, rank-12...
It moves down to the second page, what do you think is the reason???
Well, the site has no BACK LINKS to stabilize its position...
Like what I've said in my previous post On Page and Off Page factors should go hand in hand with each other....

I see it on page #1 (probably we’re getting results from different data centers)
But that’s not my point.
Google will pick-up content before links simply because it set that way.
Any SE, you name it, would look for keywords first and then where they are coming from. Keywords give weight to search result and not backlinks and if your site doesn’t provide keyword rich content then no amount of links will compensate your SE visibility.

Because the search engines want to know how popular you are.
It's like having a nice billboard at the end of a dead end street.
Would be hard to find!

Yeah, maybe we're just seeing results from different data centers...
Also agreed in your statement that content set the way...

But I definitely disagree on this one...
Writing keyword rich content really place a big part in achieving our SEO goals but if your saying that backlinks does not give weight to search results then you better think again...
Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.
I'll repeat it to you for the third time...
On Page and Off Page factors should go hand in hand with each other...
Peace Out!

I just checked the Google SERP today and I've seen that this thread is now #1 for that term...
See we didn't even planned to rank V7n.com for that keyword but it ranked naturally...
And who would have want to rank with those keywords anyways(is there money on it)...
Try to compete for highly competitive keywords such as real estate or cars, I'm sure you'll gonna end up on the bottom of SERP with no backlinks to support your site for those keywords...

It is because the search engines are built on that.. it's like a popularity contest, much like high school.

Wrong. We are talking about 2 month old site without backlinks that come in search results on top.
Middle Finger just another example if alexa is not good enough for you.
What are you trying to prove anyway? Or you just went alone for a ride.
I you have point to make then do it, if not, then go back to watching cartoones

No, I disagree. I still think that creating GOOD content is more crucial that link building because if you have a good content, links will come without any effort.

Link building is more crucial because it gives more visibility to your site converted into profit.

Yes, we are talking about Middlefingeraward.com's SERP status for the term "alexa sucks proof" but not for the keyword "Middle Finger" that misleads this argument... How many times do I have to say this?
I don't care about Alexa, its nothing but CRAP! ...
You just inserted the term "Middle Finger" to find loopholes on our previously discussed term "alexa sucks proof", but to no avail...
I think you have some amnesia my friend cause here is what you said:

What I'm trying to prove is that content without backlinks won't get the job done... A well optimized content with supporting quality backlinks is the best thing to have...

I've already proven my point...
You should be the one who should go back to the DOG HOUSE where you came from and eat some DOG FOOD to enhance your logic and understanding...
Sorry time over, I don't wanna continue a discussion with a DOG who's only good at BARKING!
PEACE OUT!

The only point you have proved, that you have no idea what you are talking about which after you post, I have no doubts in my mind become obvious to others
