Think about it. If you want search engines to visit your site more often, think how search engines work. They spider a page and follow links on the page. They don't start at your home page and work their way through your site. They visit a page and leave, come back to a different page and leave.

The best way to get search engines to visit YOUR pages is to have links from other sites to your pages. The more links you have out there, the more likely you'll get SE's to crawl your site. I have one site with thousands and thousands of inbound links, and I will find my new content indexed within a day. My blog posts are indexed within a couple of hours. That's how to get your site visited more often.
