In theory the ideal Directory script does not have too many layers, like an onion.
the more layers that need 2B peeled back, the more
PR gets DILUTED.
For example, I usually submit to "Shopping ==> Weddings"
but some directory scripts have subcategory , in my case its "Shopping ==> Weddings ==> Music" (the deeper you go, the less
PR gets distributed to your site)
In the case of those directories that have just "Shopping" (no sub-categories):
I'll look for "Arts & Entertainment" (
PR wise, its better to be in a Top Category, rather than going deeper into the subcategory "Entertainment ==> Music" , or even worse: "Entertainment ==>Music ==> DJs")
What am I getting at?
Keep the directory script SIMPLE, with ONE layer of sub-categories below each Top category.
And, DO NOT buy or use any directory script that does not have "Wedding" as an available category.
Finally, the ****TIEST directories are the ones that only have a handful of categories, and the lazy editors lump everyone into the category "XYZ"
