Article Directory Submission -- How often?

Hi Guys,

I am very new to Internet Marketing and not sure what to do and what not to, just reading SEO books and try to follow instructions provided -- Lack of Experience.

I am doing about 3000+ submissions (20 articles to 170 article directories) every month, I am not sure if its good or not.

I would like to hear from you experts what is the number of number of submissions to be done per month to get back links?

Please help.

wow! 3000+ a month??? I write and submit 2 a month (and that's a good month).

No, I don't use any auto submitters. Everything manually.

Thanks for suggestion. Here I would like to you notice that I am posting the same article on 170 directories -- Do you think its counted as copy?

I think posting one and same article to 170 article directories is not counted as copy.

Your views please.

Don't use any auto submission,do manual submission that to use good links
daily u submit max 50 link and u will get approval 7/10 it's ok to index in top.

I am doing everything Manually, no use of any auto submittors

Your 3000+ submissions could easily trigger off DUPLICATE PENALTY. This duplicate penalty will effect all those article websites where you are publishing them.

Rather than publishing 20 articles and submitting to 170 article directories with SAME TITLE AND SAME TEXT will only make your website to loose its credibility.

Search engines shun any artificial means of gaining higher rankings on search engines. Your same article could be published on 3-5 websites, but 170 is way too much.

If you can manage to submit even 20 unique articles ( after making slight changes to the content) to 20 high ranking article websites, it will be far much helpful to your website's rankings.

As we know that content is very important in website promotion. Articles are very helpful in boasting traffic on website.

Try to promote your website through Press Releases also.

article submission is really important that's why I'm doing submission every day but with specific numbers.

I don't think that submitting same article to 170 or 500 article directories can create any penalty because article directories are developed for the same purpose. Please make it clear why this type of submission can create any penalty? Most of people who are doing article submission are doing the same for more than last five years and I never heard about this problem...
