Forum or blog to add to my website

Which one ads more weight? Forums or blog adds more weight to a website in case of seo? Also which forum is the best one to have, and the less one that gets spam?

is it even worth adding a forum, as my plan is to start the forum but don't allow any user because of spam problem. I had a forum long time ago, but because of spammer I had to shut it off.
So basically this time I and 1 or 2 other people will be doing all the posting related to the niche.

forum is for online discussion you can put link in ths signature but you should take part in this discussion not only for getting link from forums otherwise you will be considered as a spammer.

forum or blog doesn't make any difference. What makes the difference is the content to be added in the forum or the blog. The problem about forums is that is very difficult to build a community that generate that content. In the case of the blog you have more options of posting content yourself, as the role of the users is to add content in the comments.

My suggestion is forum. Start your forum and maintain its quality. It will give your more traffic than blog.

Actually, in my point of view, adding blogs and forums to website will be benefits to you. Blogs and forums can create backlinks for you; just have a co moderators with you to help you monitors spammers in your forum.

i would not recommend to start a forum ... the main reason wud b spam and its very hard to bring traffic for discussion over there....

i prefer starting blogs .... and try to update it regularly

Sure... people are mentioning spam here as a potential problem. It can be a problem not just with forums, but with blogs too. C'est la vie...

Blog is quite easier to set up than a forum. A blog can increase site popularity if there are quality and unique content in it, if keywords are well targeted in a blog its helps in getting extra backlinks.
In terms of spam i think manual moderation is the great solution to end spam.

I'm going to make it hard to add new register, only I would manully approve them, after they send me a email. But basically me and few of my friend will be doing most of the posting on the forum related to my niche.
U think thats a good idea, or just waste of time.

I would say starting a blog section would be easier.
Then later you can add a forum to the site.
Just make sure you have enough time to dedicate!
