I had submitted my website to several search engines and recently I was told that my splash page was a major problem for web crawlers.... do I have to resubmit my site for crawling after making such a change? Thanks

no need to resubmit to engines.

just get a few decent inbound links (from directories or other sites) and they will list you.

There is really no reason to submit your site to Google. If you have links from other sites Google will find and list you automatically.

forget submitting to any search engines, get all the links you can, that will get you found and you will start to build your backlinks for your site

you should generally avoid splash pages.

have your inbound links and PR work for you, not against you. use CONTENT on your main page, not just an image. it'll do wonders for you.
